Yacht movements

Allowed as per below

Crew and Guest movements

With effect from Monday 9th May 2022, COVID-19 restrictions related to travel will once again be relaxed, as countries will no longer be classified as Red or Dark Red.

This also means that the need for pre-travel authorisation by the Superintendent of Public Health from countries which until now are on the dark red list will no longer be needed.

As from the 9th May 2022, travel to Malta will only depend on the immunity of the person, and for this reason, a recognised valid vaccine certificate/a recognised valid COVID-19 recovery certificate/Negative PCR Test taken not more than 72 hours prior to arrival/Negative Rapid Test taken not more than 24 hours prior to arrival – will still be required for travel to Malta, with children aged 6 or younger being exempt from presenting any of the above-mentioned documents.

If either of these documents are not presented upon arrival, a 10-day mandatory quarantine will apply, which is reduced to 7 days following a negative test.

Travel Requirements (6 years+)

Travel to Malta is permitted by showing ONE of the following documents

Vaccination Certificate

The vaccination certificate must indicate that no less than 14 days and no more than 270 days have passed since the last dose of the primary vaccination series or if the person has received a booster dose.

For persons aged less than 18 years this validity period is not applicable.

Recovery Certificate

The certificate must indicate that no less than 14 days and no more than 180 days have passed since date of the first positive test. Only the following certificates are currently being accepted:

1. EU Digital COVID certificate.

2. Digital COVID certificate having been recognised as equivalent to EU Digital COVID certificate based on EU equivalence decisions issued by the European Commission.

3. Test Certificate of a positive PCR test received not less than 14 days and not more than 180 days prior to travel together with valid proof of a negative PCR test obtained no more than 72 hours before arrival in Malta.

Certificate of negative test result

Only the following test certificates are currently accepted:

1. Negative PCR test result obtained no more than 72 hours before arrival issued from an accredited lab in English. If unavailable in English, an English translation certified by the laboratory or a medical doctor is to be presented.

2. Negative rapid antigen test result obtained no more than 24 hours before arrival in the format of the EU Digital COVID certificate. RAT tests are not accepted unless on the EU digital COVID certificate format.

Results from self-testing are not accepted.
